Hardlock not installed (USB) There are two reasons why your USB Hardlock could be failing. Either One, the LPT Hardlock Device Driver is also installed and conflicting with the USB hardlock driver (HASP Device Driver), or two, there are missing components to the USB Drivers. 1a. Firstly, check that the USB hardlock is installed correctly into a working USB port. It's possible that both the LPT Hardlock Device Driver and the USB Device Driver are installed on your machine. You will need to remove both of these drivers and reinstall the correct one. To do this, you first need to restart your machine so that the drivers are not running. *Important: IF you have SoftWheels/TreadWare configured to run on startup, you will need to disable this so that SoftWheels/TreadWare will NOT run on startup. Navigate to the Startup program menu(Start - All Programs - Startup). In here you will see a SoftWheels/TreadWare icon. Right click on the icon and choose Delete. Restart your machine. 1b. Navigate to the Add/Remove Programs panel (Start - Settings - Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs). Once the list is populated, look for "Hardlock Device Driver" and "HASP Device Driver." Remove both of these. Restart your machine. 1c. Upon startup, navigate to the SoftWheels/TreadWare program menu and run Install USB Drivers(Start - All Programs - SoftWheels - Install USB Drivers). Once the installation is complete, restart your machine. The problem should be resolved. If the problem is not resolved, continue on to step two. 2. In some instances, there are machines missing certain driver files. These files, specifically for the USB hardlock only, can be downloaded here: http://www.autowaretech.com/patches/hasp_user_setup.exe Before continuing this procedure in Step 2, you will need to repeat steps 1a and 1b. Once those two steps have been completed, continue here in Step 2. Download the driver files listed above. Install leaving all default options. The missing files should now be installed. Restart your machine. From here you'll need to repeat step 1c. 1c. Upon startup, navigate to the SoftWheels/TreadWare program
menu and run Install USB Drivers(Start - All Programs - SoftWheels -
Install USB Drivers). Once the installation is complete, restart your
machine. The problem should be resolved. If the problem is not resolved
there may be futher issues preventing you from using SoftWheels/TreadWare.

Cannot find library(*.lib) Error This error means that SoftWheels/TreadWare cannot find certain files on your machine. This may be due to incorrect installation, currupt install disks, or currupt files and hard drives sectors. To insure proper install, leave the default settings. The most common of these errors is the user installing the program under a certain user name, and then trying to operate it from another. To fix this issue, uninstall SoftWheels/TreadWare and reinstall SoftWheels/TreadWare under the user that will be operating the program. Another common error is the user not having enough disk space on their hard drive. Please check that you have enough disk space to install SoftWheels/TreadWare on your machine before installing. (SoftWheels requires 3GB; Treadware requires 200MB) Your hard drive specifications can be found in you My Computer window. It is possible, out of the many CDs we receive from the duplication plant, that a few will be damaged or flawed. If you have checked the aforementioned and feel this is the case, please contact us at 1.877.230.9695 to receive a new set of disks. -

16-bit Subsystem Error In the past, there was a trojan floating around effecting the Window's system files config.nt, autoexec.nt, and command.com. This trojan some how prevented SoftWheels from running and displayed some variation of the following error. "16-bit MS-DOS Subsystem path to the program that you are trying to start or install C:\Windows\System32\config.nt The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application." This problem lies in Windows and not with SoftWheels. you must repair
your version of Windows using Microsoft's instructions. Once completing
Microsoft's instruction you should be able to operate SoftWheels correctly.
